I’m not crazy about almonds if I’m to be perfectly honest. I don’t like that Asian favourite of Almond Jelly desserts (I’m not alone am I? ) and I don’t like the scent of almonds. But there’s one almond product I like and that’s the L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil. Mmm… Pity I’ve run out for now
As it turns out, L’Occitane is huge on almonds as their almond body collection shows.
They’ve always been popular for their almond body creams and lotions which boast skin softening, moisturising, firming and toning effects. I’m told by friends that they swear by the Almond Supple Skin Oil and Almond Milk Concentrate when pregnant to prevent stretch marks.
Personally, I haven’t tried most of the Almond Collection from L’Occitane so it was interesting to get to know what’s new and upcoming from the collection in the coming months.
If you are a user of the Almond Collection products, you may be interested to know of what’s new and what’s upcoming and you could also tell me what you like from the range 
The L’Occitane almond range has 2 sub-ranges now. One targeted at body firming, where the products will leave skin feeling smoother, softer and firmer with regular use. If you dread the onset of sagging skin caused by loss of collagen, then this would be the range you go for. They aren’t new in a true sense, but upgraded versions of popular favourites.
There’s the Supple Skin Oil (RM187/100ml) which you see above, a dry oil with the scent of almonds. It comes in a spray bottle and feels very light on skin and dries down quickly. People who aren’t sure about using a body oil for fear of it feeling too oily and greasy may like this because it dries so quickly, your skin just feels like silk after that.
I personally love the feeling of an oil on my skin so dry oils and I don’t get along very well.This is the oil that pregnant women swear by to keep stretch marks at bay and is supposed to help moisturise dry skin, and tone and firm up skin.
The Almond Milk Concentrate (RM214/200ml) is a body cream that feels rich yet silky when applied on skin. It doesn’t leave skin feeling greasy or sticky and works to soften skin while firming up skin as well. You can use both the oil and this together if you like.
If you find the Milk Concentrate too heavy, mix in some Supply Skin Oil to lighten the texture and spread it all over your skin. It adds the moisture to your skin and for me, I find it absorbs better this way. I am not much of a body lotion/cream user so I like mixing it this way to help me along.
The other range is the Body Slimming Care range which come in a light green packaging. This is a range of body products targeted at helping you tone up your body and banish (or at least reduce) the appearance of cellulite. The scent is much lighter than that of the Milk Concentrate or the Supply Body Oil and smells fresh.
The Tonic Body Oil (RM198/100ml) is a dry oil, rather like the Supple Skin Oil that smells quite fresh and dries very quickly when sprayed on skin. With regular use, this oil is supposed to help reduce the appearance of cellulite while leaving skin looking toned.
For fans of hand creams then you may like to know that the Almond Collection now boasts a new Smooth Hands hand cream (RM80/75ml) a light textured hand cream that absorbs into skin without feeling heavy. I did find that it took a while to absorb but then I’m very sensitive to hand creams, as I rarely use any and if I do, rarely stray from my favourites 
To complement the hands is Lighter Legs (RM86/75ml) a refreshing cream with peppermint and camphor essential oil to refresh tired feet. Try it after a long day on your feet and it feels so comfy! I like the idea for a novelty factor but I can safely say that this isn’t something I’d actively seek out 
If body cream is more your thing then the Shaping Delight (RM205/200ml) might be more up your alley. Like the Milk Concentrate, this is a light textured body cream that absorbs quickly into skin and leaves it feeling soft and smooth. It is supposed to work to tone and tighten skin so skin looks firmer and smoother and “reshapes” the body so curves are kept erm… tighter. Personally, I’m also not into these shaping cream things so I wouldn’t be your best judge. I am so slack about using these that I probably wouldn’t see any results anyway! 
The only product I can forsee myself using from this Almond range aside from the Shower Oil is this one – the Supple Skin Oil.
I’m not crazy about the scent nor the texture so I wouldn’t replace my regular “oily” body oils with this one, but this is a good one to whip out if you don’t want to make a mess or are travelling (by road) because the spray dispenser makes it easier to use while on the go. I personally did not see any real improvements in the skintone of my body (I use it mainly on arms as a body moisturiser) but I suppose if it does work, hurrah!
