Whether you have a long 10 hour shift at work, a 9 to 5 job or long classes and hours of studying busy schedules are the regular ordeal so no one really has the time to stand in front of a mirror for 15 minutes fixing up their makeup mishaps…
Multi-use products (like a lipstick that can double up as a cream blush, a pencil eyeliner that can be used as an eyeshadow and a clear mascara that can be used for your brows) are, quick, simple and easy to use.
Plus they save space in your makeup bag and can instantly transform your look if going out after a long day at work or college.Samples from makeup counters are great for carrying around in your bag when on the go. Ask for samples of your favourite products for traveling and ALWAYS keep a good sunscreen in your bag (you never know when the sun decides it’s going to cook you for dinner!)
Preparation is the key
There’s no point spending hours applying the perfect foundation or perfecting your winged liner if you don’t prep first. Start by using a good sunscreen serum (they help your makeup last longer than a moisturiser) or a mattifying sunscreen and then follow up with a good face primer. It also pays to prep your eyes and your lips. Make sure you are using a specific primer for those areas. If possible try to use long wearing formulas of foundation, eyeliner, mascara, etc.
Easy to apply products are a must
If you are racing around all day and barely have time to check your phone, have a sip of water and rush to the bathroom then quick and easy to use products are a must. Try a BB Cream (the coverage is sheer so you don’t need to spend hours blending) a sheer pressed powder to reduce shine and a tinted lip balm (which can be applied without a mirror) Also make sure to keep some blotting tissues in our bag, they can help fix oiliness and can be used to blot lipstick.
Skincare fixes everything
Lip Balm & Moisturiser are both great products on their own, but they have more uses than just providing hydration. Smooth a little clear lip balm over your brows to keep them in place and pat a little onto the highest points of your face to quickly brighten dull skin. If your makeup is looking cakey or dry halfway throughout the day put a dab of moisturiser onto the apples of your cheeks for a quick brightening effect or use a little on a cotton tip to correct cakey or creased concealer.
