Favorites: Baby Products For Adults

I’m in total baby obsession. I know, I know, not an opener for a blind date, but I can’t help it. My biological clock is tick-ticking so loudly, I’m surprised my neighbors aren’t complaining! So, when it comes to beauty products, I’ll be honest: I’m looking at the baby aisle, too. Not to mention that all of my friends have kids, so I’m constantly combing through their product shelves.

Interestingly, I’ve noticed that most of the products intended for babies are actually healthier for me (go figure!). Less harsh chemicals, more of the healthy stuff that makes my body beautiful.

This got me thinking… what a great post. My favorite baby products that adults can – and should – use, too. Some are old favorites, some are brand new. And until I have my own bundle of joy, I’ll always have the products…

1 – California Baby Calendula Shampoo & Bodywash ($11) – California Baby is a must for pregnant ladies – and the babies. I like it because it is so simple, made with the most natural ingredients (sulfate-free!) and great for sensitive skin. Calendula is one of my favorite ingredients because of its skin soothing properties. Adults can also use this as a face wash. A 3-in-1! Can’t go wrong.

2 – Mustela Hydra-Bebe Body Lotion ($15) - A long time favorite, Mustela makes some great products for mommy and baby. This lotion combines shea butter, sweet almond and jojoba oils for gentle hydration. Free of parabens, sulfates, and synthetic dyes, this lotion leaves skin as soft as, well, a baby. And the smell is so fresh and calming, you’ll want to cuddle up in bed after applying.

3 – Belli Baby Nourish Me Enriched Body Lotion ($15) – Another great baby and mommy line, but just as good for the single beauty obsessed. This lotion is thick and rich and creamy and moisturizes like a serious body cream. It has chamomile to soften, soothe and refresh, and vitamin E, a natural emollient and antioxidant.

4 – Noodle & Boo Healthy Hand Wash ($12) – I’m kind of OCD about washing my hands. Probably because I’m super OCD about germs. The one thing I can’t stand about hand soap is how it dries out my skin. That’s why I am constantly slathering on hand lotions to get rid of that just-washed feel. But this hand wash is fabulous. It’s soap-free, made with vitamins A, C and E, cleans without stripping natural moisture, and perfect for sensitive skin.

5 – Mustela Facial Cleansing Cloths ($9)- Another gem from Mustela that I’m slightly obsessed with: the alcohol-free cleansing cloth is magic for taking off makeup. It’s great for sensitive skin, non-irritating, doesn’t bother my eyes or make me breakout (hypoallergenic). Good enough for a baby’s delicate skin, good enough for me.

6. Weleda Calendula Face Cream ($14) – All of my mommy friends swear by calendula for their infants. It’s all-natural and extremely nourishing yet gentle. Weleda’s formula is fabulous: free of parabens, synthetic fragrance, chemical preservatives, and petroleum. Plus it works wonders on winter-chafed skin.
