I loved working on this shoot for UK Harpers Bazaar with Kate Winslet. The shoot was inspired by late 50's and early 60's couture and the work of photographers like Henry Clarke and John French. The styling for the shoot was phenomenal and when we werent salivating over the racks of amazing dresses, all the girls on the shoot were hanging around the jewellery table, drooling .
.. there was some serious rock-age going on!For the make-up I went very classically couture with winged liner, lashes, contour and seriously arched brows - but as lot of the styling was more early 60's than 50's, I kept Kate's lipstick pale and added extra lashes for some of the shots. I love this era in make-up history, the cross-over period between the classic 50's face and the full on 60's look. It was such a chic time.
All photographs appear in the April 2013 edition of Harper's Bazaar UK.
